Founded in 1989 by Mary and the late Ted van der Zalm Sr., good used items were gathered and stored in the family's garage for shipment to Tanzania.

During the weekend of July 1, 1990 the present building was erected with volunteer labour and mostly donated materials.  Today, our focus is on shipping surplus but still useful school and hospital supplies including computers, linens, eyeglasses, etc.

Small in-house projects include calibrating used eyeglasses, sewing baby layettes for newborns, crochet mats from plastic milk bags, repairing computers, etc.

Our suppliers are area school boards, hospitals, businesses and individuals.

Our financial support comes mainly from service clubs, individuals and fund raising.

We only ship to viable charities with reputable contacts.

With your help, it is our hope to continue to "Help People Help Themselves"
